Why have a section on the economy in Democracy Alert?

For 40 years neoliberalism has dominated economic discussions and government policy.   In other parts of our resource section (See Inequality and Power Shift) we have tried to highlight some of the negative effects of this pervasive ideology.  This section focuses on the flawed economic thinking taught in far too many university economics departments.
